Common questions

What is the Göbekli Tepe app?

It's a free, offline companion audio guide. As you reach each of the great enclosures along the boardwalk, the app plays that enclosure's story automatically — no signal needed. It's an independent companion to your visit and is currently in development ("coming soon"); store links will appear on this site when it's ready.

Sign in with Apple isn't working

If the Sign in with Apple button doesn't respond on iOS, make sure you're on the latest version of the app (App Store → Updates), force-quit and reopen the app, and check that you're signed into iCloud on the device. If it still doesn't work, email [email protected] with your iOS version and device model and we'll fix it within a working day.

I forgot my password

On the login screen, tap "Forgot password" and enter the email you registered with. We'll send a reset link valid for one hour. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within five minutes.

The app crashes or won't open

First try: force-quit and reopen. If that fails: uninstall and reinstall (your account and saved items are kept on our servers). Still failing? Email [email protected] with your phone model, OS version and a brief description of what happens.

Does the audio guide work offline?

Yes. The companion app is designed to play each enclosure's audio as you reach it, with no signal needed. Download the audio on Wi-Fi before you travel and it stays available on your device for your visit. Mobile coverage at the site can be patchy, so offline playback is the default.

What do "saved" and "explored" mean?

With a free account you can bookmark enclosures, heritage sites and articles to revisit later, and mark which of the four great enclosures you've explored so you can pick up where you left off. These are stored against your account.

How do I delete my account?

Inside the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. From the web: delete-account. Account deletion is processed within 7 days and removes the personal data we hold about you (your profile and saved items). Some anonymised analytics may be retained.

Visiting Göbekli Tepe — tickets, hours and access

We are an independent guide and do not sell tickets or manage access. For official opening hours, ticket prices and access, please consult the relevant official bodies directly. For an urgent safety concern at the site, contact the site authorities or local emergency services (the all-Türkiye emergency number is 112).
